Robyn Rihanna Fenty launched her beauty line just over a month ago, and she had the world SHOOK. As a major fashion influencer, not only in the Black community but also in mainstream media and pop culture, it was only right for Rihanna dive into the beauty industry. One of the most prominent reviews about her line is the wide range of shades. Besides the luxury of high quality foundations for at an affordable price, consumers also have the option to choose from 40 different shades! To most, this may not sound like a big deal, but it is a significant development for people of color whose needs are frequently ignored in the mainstream beauty industry.
Currently, Fenty Beauty has one of the palest and one of the darkest foundation colors available in stores and online. To remain in competition, brands like Kylie Cosmetics added new foundation shades while ones like Make Up For Ever turned to social media to promote their own shade range. On their Instagram account, Make Up For Ever posted a picture of their foundations, saying “40 shades is nothing new to us”. Rihanna clapped back by commenting “lol. Still ashy” and “shook.” Don’t come for Bad Gal RiRi, she knows a thing or two about shade(s). Fenty Beauty features products like the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer (which looks great on all skin tones), Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter, and the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. The brand is stocked for the foreseeable future, but I highly suggest you get your coins in order because these products are going FAST. Shop the full collection here.
